United Prayer of Dedication

“O Lord open thou our lips and our mouths shall show forth thy praise. We give thee thanks that thou art continually mindful of us. Thy mercies, new  every morning, fresh every evening, are more than can be numbered. Thou  hast created heaven and earth and all that are therein. Thou hast given thy children wonderous powers, and hast so ordered the world that these powers shall have exercise and gratification. Wonderful are thy ways in nature with its order and manifold adaptations. For its various forms, its myriad voices, its constant ministries, we would adore thee. Thou hast given to men to search out  the laws of the harmonies which are the expression of thy thoughts, and to  construct instruments of music which employ them, that the heart may be gladdened and inspired, the worship in thine house be more rich and praiseful. In thy loving providence thou has given this organ to thy children who worship  here, and we would give thee thanks, and would dediczte it unto thee. May it  aid and uplift us in our worship, may its voice bring joy and rest to those in weariness and sadness, comfort to those in sorrow, inspiration to the faint and  toilworn, sustaining power unto all. Through its aid may our service be made more worshipful, the soul life grow richer, and the sweetness and strength of  its harmonies deepen and broaden all our lives. May God be honored in its use.  Bestow thy blessing richly upon thy servant whose heart thou didst incline generously to give it. Accept, O Lord our gratitude and our dedication of this organ unto thee. Through it may we be led to fuller dedication of our lives unto thy service. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.”
