ROY E. STILLWELL, WITH PAULINE STILLWELL, AT GALLOWAY UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH, FEBRUARY 11, 2002.

Roy Stillwell began with Bach's Prelude and Fugue in A Minor(BWV 543),
playing precisely and easily, and changing registration and manuals
very effectively. Next Pauline Stillwell played three piano works, by
Faure (Nocturne, Op. 63 #7), Ravel (Concerto, 2nd Movement, accompanied
by Roy Stillwell at the organ), and DeBussy (L'isle Joyeuse). She played
expressively, with dynamic control and sensitivity, and with great energy
and fire in the DeBussy.

Roy Stillwell closed with Messiaen's The Nativity of Our Lord
(The Shepherds / Eternal Purposes/ The Angels / The Wise Men / God Among Us).
These contrasting pieces showed off the Galloway organ's variety, and the
last (God Among Us) - like the DeBussy - was also full of energy and fire.
